G. Stepniak received his MSc. degree from the Warsaw University of Technology in September 2005. His thesis concerned numerical analysis of multimode fibers. Till May 2009, when he received his PhD degree, he was a PhD student in our group and worked towards employment of mode group diversity multiplexing for data transmission in multimode fibers. Currently, he is an assistant professor and he investigates the possibility of increasing the bandwidth of multimode fibers by means of filtration in the optical spatial frequency domain.
Grzegorz Stepniak has been awarded a scholarship from the Advanced Students Center, Warsaw University of Technology (2010), a conference scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science (2010) and the Rector's award for scientific achievements (together with J. Siuzdak, Lukasz Maksymiuk and Marcin Kowalczyk, 2010). He is a reviewer for Optics Letters, Optics Express, IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, IET Optoelectronics, Chinese Optics Letters, Optical Fiber Technology and Optics & Laser Technology.
